My Final Products evaluation

I like all of the products I have created, I feel like they look proffesional and the style suits the music my magazine Is based on. The images are all good and attract the audience well. The colours are dark in places but bright and attractive in others, this is to make it look more proffesional but attractive at the same time. I think my products overall are quite good and are of a decent standard compared to other music magazines.

If I was to make any improvements it would be to have taken more images, I made the mistake of using the same image on my front cover as I did on my double page spread. This could put the readers off as many readers would be interested in a range of images to do with my artist.

Furthermore my contents page has a lot of free space in the background around the image. To make it more conventional I could added more text. However, I feel that more text could have ruined the layout of my contents page, making it look cluttered and unprofessional.

The front cover is interesting and the colours that I have used contrast well; I think that it would stand out nicely on a shop shelf. If I was to criticise it I would have placed the image more centre on the page and used more light to make the models eyes brighter so as to attract the reader. My headlines are interesting and are modern and correct for the age group my magazine is aimed at.

My double page spread links nicely with my front cover and contents as the same colours run through them all. Unfortunately due to time I have not made my double page fully conventional as the images are the same ones used on the front and contents. Ideally I should have used a variety of images. Although my story is interesting I think that a question and answer format may attract my target reader more as teenagers sometimes don't have time to read full stories. If it had a question and answer format the reader could select more easily the information they wish to process.

Overall I feel really positive with my products, and after feedback from my peers I feel it would do well in stores along side other magazines.

Ideas for Colours

I have complied a number of different colours for my magazine background and fonts etc.

• Light blue, white and yellow; I have chosen these colours because they stand out and go are common colours.
• Blue and Gold; used for the prom in July.
• Black and White, maybe other colours such as Red or Blue for text.
